David Hammel is a fifth generation Floridian and a graduate of the
Ringling School of Art and Design, Sarasota, Florida. He has won many
awards for his art and has been recognized by such notables as the first
lady Columba Bush, international artist Robert Rauschenberg, the
Smithsonian Institute Museum of Sculpture supporter, Olga Hirshorn and
wildlife expert Jack Hanna.

David has
taught many art programs to a wide variety of groups and individuals
across the state of Florida and nationwide. Hammel has dedicated and
directed a great deal of time and effort towards education of fine art in
the communities of Southwest Florida. He has maintained a working fine
art studio since 1990. His artistic skills encompass many mediums—stonecarving,
metal sculpture, painting, printmaking, glass fusing, rustic furniture and
all aspects of pottery.
